Abstract

In contemporary urban Planning in the world, attention to the expansion of public transportation and the development of cities on the basis of it has become an accepted principle for dealing with heavy traffic and its problems and creating dynamic and viable neighborhoods in cities. The idea of Transport Oriented Development (TOD) at the micro level emphasizes the expansion of local communities and sustainable neighborhoods by providing context-based urban design solutions. Dynamic, efficient, neighborhoods that encourage social interactions that extends them to sustainable design goals and ideas in urban design.
Mansour neighborhood is one of the neighborhoods facing the construction of Shahid Beheshti metro station and there is no plan to investigate the impact of the neighborhood on this public transport infrastructure. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to explain the necessity of taking advantage of the benefits of the public transport system in order to create and enhance the sustainability trend in the Mansour neighborhood and to apply urban design based on urban transport policies to the sustainability of the study area. the research method is descriptive and analytical. The data collection method is documentary, library as well as survey and field. The field method is collected through questionnaire, observation and interview. Then, using the Oregon model of visioning, setting goals, strategies, and policies, we present alternatives and evaluate them using the GAM method. Choosing the best scenario to achieve the appropriate design for Mansour Tabriz neighborhood has been formulated using TOD approach and neighborhood sustainability as research results.
