Abstract
Healthy housing, as a fundamental concept in housing studies, encompasses housing quality and health, playing a crucial role in enhancing the physical, psychological, and social well-being of residents. However, within domestic research, this topic has received minimal attention. The present study employs a meta-analysis method to identify, categorize, and analyze studies conducted on healthy housing in Iran. By utilizing keywords such as "housing," "healthy city," and "healthy housing," 147 scholarly documents were scrutinized from scientific databases, leading to the selection of 12 relevant studies. These studies underwent thorough examination and analysis using the meta-analysis approach. The research findings reveal that despite the extraordinary importance of healthy housing, domestic researchers have paid scant attention to this subject. The timeline of research indicates that the concept of "healthy housing" entered domestic studies since the late 2000s. These studies have predominantly focused on cities such as Ardabil, Daran, Yazd, Tehran, Zabol, Babol, Nazarabad, Islamshahr, and Mashhad, with Ardabil being the central hub of these investigations. Methodologically, the conducted studies lack systematic reviews and content analysis, predominantly adopting a descriptive-analytical approach with limited methodological diversity. Data collection primarily relies on documentary sources with limited use of other tools such as questionnaires and observations. Despite efforts to conceptualize healthy housing, a theoretical gap exists due to incompatible frameworks and definitions. Consequently, the status of healthy housing indicators in Iranian cities is perceived as unfavorable, highlighting the need for increased attention to housing quality in Iran. Therefore, this study underscores the concerning lack of attention to healthy housing in the scientific discourse in Iran, despite its vital importance. Housing policies have often prioritized quantitative aspects while neglecting qualitative considerations. Although research on housing dates back decades, the concept of healthy housing has gained prominence in the past decade, albeit with fluctuating attention. The findings of this study emphasize the significance of the healthy housing topic.
