[English]

Abstract
Statement of the problem: In an era when social and local organizations are collapsing due to the reduction of participation, the asset-based community development model offers a new concept for the development of participation by emphasizing the capacities and capabilities of local residents. However, how to create individual motivations for participation in the theoretical literature of this model has been almost ignored. For this reason, in this research, the theory of self-determination, which considers the creation of motivation as requiring consideration of the inherent psychological needs for competence, autonomy, and communication, has been studied and its effect on the asset-based community development model has been investigated.
Purpose: The purpose of this research is to present a new conceptual model to increase people's participation based on the influence of self-determination theory in the asset-based community development model.
Method: The research is among qualitative studies and by combining two methods of critical discourse analysis according to Fairclough's analytical framework and thematic analysis, the common conceptual areas of property-based community development and self-determination theory, which have the ability to integrate with each other, were studied.
Findings: By critically analyzing the discourse at three levels of description, interpretation and explanation and carrying out the process of thematic classification (coding and identification of primary themes and main themes), the areas of convergence and interconnected concepts of self-determination theory and the asset-based community development model were identified and the conceptual model of the research was presented. .
Conclusion: In order to motivate and satisfy people's psychological needs to increase participation, there is a need for spaces where people can show their abilities and competencies; have authority to make decisions and determine destiny under social leadership; and have the experience of being present in spaces where they can interact and establish effective social communication with others. These spaces include interactive, decision-making, educational, self-leveling, and self-driving spaces, or in more complete terms, language spaces.
